ACUPUNCTURE

Acupuncture is a Modality in Chinese medicine in which hair thin needles are inserted into key areas of the body for therapeutic benefits ranging from pain relief to treating various physical, mental, and emotional conditions.

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) has acknowledged acupuncture as an effective therapy for a wide range of health conditions. Hundreds of clinical studies on the benefits of acupuncture show that it successfully treats conditions ranging from musculoskeletal problems (back pain, neck pain, and others) to nausea, migraine headache, anxiety, depression, insomnia, and infertility. Acupuncture is a catalyst for change in the body and mind and is a great resource during times of transition and stress.

Acupuncture is near pain-free and can produce sensations of relaxation, relief, and even euphoria.

CRANIOSACRAL THERAPY

Cranial sacral therapy (also known as craniosacral therapy or CST) is a gentle, noninvasive form of bodywork that addresses the bones of the head, spinal column and sacrum. It was pioneered and developed by Osteopathic Doctor John Upledger in the 1970’s.

CST techniques are used to increase resistance to disease and is effective for a wide range of medical problems associated with pain and dysfunction, including: Migraine Headaches. Chronic Neck and Back Pain. The goal is to release compression in shoulders, head, and neck which alleviates stress and pain.

HERBAL MEDICINE

Chinese Herbal Medicine is a part of an ancient healthcare system that has evolved over the centuries. Chinese herbs are an important tool in the treatment of a broad spectrum of disease.

Chinese herbs can be prescribed in different forms. In my Olympia acupuncture clinic I primarily prescribe concentrated herbal granules and tinctures. This makes it easy for you to remember to take your herbs. When it’s appropriate I also prescribe Western herbs using the best quality herbs I can get my hands on.

Herbal prescriptions can be customized to you and your specific symptoms.

QI GONG

Qigong is a type of Chinese healing art related to Tai Chi using a holistic system of slow exercise movements, concentration, controlled breathing, and meditation to promote health and spirituality.

Comparable to yoga, the importance of relaxation to reduce stress and promote healing is becoming more and more understood. The benefits of Qigong are calming the mind and body then focus the energy on self-healing. Strengthening the muscles with low impact exercises prevent falls and gives balance to the body. The concentration of Qi gong therapy achieves a relaxed state of mind reducing stress.
